about

The Vagabonds’s Zach Resnick, Joe Beerman, and Noah Hyams got their start playing at the former Vagabond Cafe in New York City in 2012. Here, along with other musicians such as featured saxophonist Mitch Guido, they had a space to explore jazz standards and funk classics, and then later develop their own voice through original music. Soon after their first show together, they started to perform regularly at The Vagabond Cafe and around NYC. As The Vagabonds began to cultivate their unique sound, they started to invite even more friends to sit in, such as featured pianist Steven Feifke. The Vagabonds’ breakout EP is dedicated to the Cafe that gave them their start and inspired their name. To this day, everyone in the group would say that no performance space has compared to the cozy, intimate vibe of their original Greenwich Village home: The Vagabond Cafe.

about

The Vagabonds

The Vagabonds is a fun and interactive group made up of American college students studying music. We have played at NYC venues including The Bitter End, The Knitting Factory, and Fat Cat. This somewhat unconventional instrumentation of trumpet, bass, and drums lends itself to unique concerts and experiments in original swing, funk, and hip hop, always with a few standards in the mix. ... more
